Year 2 Aspen Class
Welcome to Aspen Class!
There are two classes in Key Stage 1 for children aged 5 – 7 (Yew and Aspen). There is one Year 1 class and one Year 2 class. Although they have their own curriculum, they may sometimes join together for learning or assemblies.
Welcome to Aspen Class, we are a happy, enthusiastic and willing group of both children and adults. My name is Mrs Vickery-Cox and I have the pleasure of being Aspen’s class teacher and with the incredible help of Miss Goodwin we strive to inspire and ignite the interest and love of learning with our amazing children. Across the year we have lots of exciting learning coming up in all subjects. We have some new texts this year as well as new music to embrace. The year will also include some favourite experiences such as the fire service visiting and a trip to Woburn Safari park. We believe that our classroom is a safe and supportive environment to try and take risks, make errors and work to our fullest. The motto is that “It doesn’t matter if we are wrong, as we are here to learn”. Seeing each individual progressing across the year, in any way, is the biggest thrill that we have and feeling proud goes right alongside that. Each day I am so pleased to see such cheerful faces coming in ready to learn and I just know that this year is going to another great year, I am so lucky to be a part of the journey.
