Amanda and Jake
We have been doing lots of fun experiments taking weather as our loose topic. From creating clouds in jars, rainbows from the sun, shadow pictures, which coloured paper got the hottest, wind pressure rockets and Amanda's own designed experiment to monitor evaporation. We have also created a giant marble run down the stairs and a river system in the sand pit. As well as a stop animation movie we had good fun doing. We have also had great fun on zoom with a big reception catch up and a disco and bingo with friends.
Here is a quick overview of what we did last week, our general theme was fruit but we got a bit distracted by bubbles making a bubble snake and bubble slime as well. We did lots of fun fruit activities, tasting lots of exotic fruit and talking about the taste and texture (we didn't like the physalis), making home made lemonade, fruit smoothies and repeating pattern fruit kebabs, learning the names of fruit in French, learning some fruit facts for comprehension, made a dancing raisin by putting in a fizzy drink and seeing that it floated when the bubbles attached to it and sunk again when the bubbles pooped at the surface and we have started a mould factory to compare what happens to some fruit and bread over time
